Please Note: IEFix does not support IE7

IEFix is a repair utility for Internet Explorer which repairs Internet Explorer by re-registering it's core DLL files and reinstalls using the IE.INF file.

1. Download Internet Explorer Fix (IEFix) from the link below:

Internet Explorer Fix - General purpose fix for Internet Explorer [Win 98/ME/2000/XP ]
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

2. Insert the Operating System CD. For Original equipment Manufacturer (OEM), point to the source path when prompted. (Optional, see next step)

3. Start IEFix. If you don't have the Windows installation CD at hand, and if the installation source files are not present on the hard disk, you may skip System File Checker (SFC) and IE.INF reinstallation by putting a checkmark in the appropriate boxes. Then, click "Apply"

4. If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) and are prompted for iexplore.exe from the Service Pack source path, the path is:

"C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386" or "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles" if Windows is installed on C:\

(The scan process will then begin and Windows will begin to restore the core system files. This may take some time to complete.)

5. Restart Windows.
